Tour Description:
Day 1: We start early departing at 5.30am from Alice Springs to travel
to Kings Canyon where we hike to explore the amazing North and
South walls of Kings Canyon taking in the spectacular views and taking
time to take photos to last for a lifetime. Trekking through Kings
Canyon we visit the Amphitheatre, the Lost City and the Garden of
Eden. In summer we tend to shorten hikes due to extreme
temperatures. After a hearty lunch we travel onto Ayers Rock (Uluru)
to our permanent campsite where we take in the sunset and enjoy dinner
before stargazing the amazing outback night sky and turning in for a good
nights rest.
(Lunch & Dinner)
Day 2: Rising early we take in one of the highlights of the tour.......
Sunrise at Ayers Rock. You can choose to take a base walk around
Ayers Rock to see the unusual rock formations, see the aboriginal art
sites in the changing light of the morning sunrise or you can choose to
climb the rock (good level of fitness required). The tour then takes you to
the Olgas (Kata Tjuta) to visit the red domes and to learn about the
cultural significance to the aboriginal people of this spiritual place. After lunch we tour back to Alice Springs viewing the outback desert and sights along the way. We arrive back in Alice Springs around 6.30pm where the tour will end.
