This tour is best for people who are flying into and departing from Ayers Rock Airport who don't have much time.

Tour Departs: Yulara pick up is at 1.45pm passengers arriving by plane should arrive prior to 1.30pm in order to connect with the Yulara Airport Shuttle to the Desert Gardens Motel to catch this tour.

Accommodation: Accommodation on this tour is sleeping in beds in tents at a permanent campsite at Yulara.

Transport: Transport while on tour is in a mini bus.

Hike Difficulty: Basic fitness is required for this tour return hikes of up to 5 kilometres.

Tour Description:

Day 1: We head to the magnificent Olgas named Kata Tjuta by the

aboriginal traditional owners to hike into the Valley of the Winds taking

in the many unusual shapes of the large rock formations and to hear the

significance to local aboriginals. Later we head back to Uluru (Ayers

Rock) to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine while we watch the ever

changing sunset as it plays on Ayers Rock and the desert landscape.

After dinner at our permanent campsite we view the magnificent

outback sky and the millions of stars before curling up for a good

nights sleep.

Day 2: It is an early morning start today as we rise to take in the

sunrise and a hearty breakfast before heading off to explore Uluru

(Ayers Rock). You can choose to climb Ayers Rock or take a base

walk instead to explore the mysterious rock formations and aboriginal

art sites (optional). We visit the Cultural Centre before returning to

Ayers Rock Resort and the finish of the tour. (tour finishes around

12.00 noon).

Things you should bring:

Sturdy walking shoes (ankle high), hat & sunscreen, water bottle, towel,

toiletries, torch, warm clothing in winter months, insect repellent, camera & film.

Experienced tour guide, meals as indicated, camping fees & equipment (tents in proper beds, linen, pillows, towels and fans).

Note: *Your flight must arrive before 1.30pm to connect with Yulara Airport Shuttle to Desert Gardens Hotel for tour pick up at 1.45pm. Tour finishes at approximately 12.00 noon at the Ayers Rock Resort. There is a 15 kilogram luggage limit while on tour.
