Transport: Transport while on tour is in a purpose built Mitsubishi 4WD.
Hike Difficulty: Basic fitness is required for this tour return hikes of  6 to 8 kilometres.

Tour Description:
Day 1: Your outback experience starts at 6.30am as we depart Alice
Springs to go to the Outback Camel Farm where you can ride a camel
(own expense). We journey on to Uluru (Ayers Rock) taking in the
desert scenery along the way. After lunch we head off to explore the
amazing Olgas (Kata Tjuta) and we take a hike to the Valley of the
Winds. Late afternoon we return to our campsite at Uluru
to watch the changing colours of the rock as the sun sets. After a
hearty dinner we curl up and watch the millions of stars in the outback
night sky.

Day 2: We get up very early to watch one of the highlights of the trip, the
Uluru sunrise after which you can enjoy a base walk of Ayers Rock
exploring the strange rock formations and the aboriginal art sites. Just
before lunch we visit the Cultural Centre and then we depart for Kings
Canyon where we spend the night after a campfire oven dinner.

Day 3: We rise early to explore the impressive formations of Kings Canyon and the Amphitheatre as well as the Garden of Eden and the awesome North and South Walls of Kings Canyon. After lunch we head off along the Mereenie Loop 4WD Track and stop to view Gosses Bluff (a meteorite crater believed to be 130 million years old) and the home of Aborginal Artist Albert Namitjira. We travel on to Glen Helen where we spend the night at our permanent campsite in the Western MacDonnell Ranges.

Day 4: We explore magnificent Ormiston Gorge before doing more four wheel driving along the ancient track of the Finke River into Palm Valley.and Cycad Gorge. We spend most of the day exploring Palm Valley which used to be an inland sea in prehistoric times. Palm Valley is host to the tropical palm Livistonia Mariae one of the rarests trees in the world.  We travel back to Alice Springs admiring the scenery of the Western MacDonnell Ranges arriving in Alice Springs in the early evening around 6.30pm approx.

Things you should bring:
Sturdy walking shoes (ankle high), hat & sunscreen, water bottle, towel, pillow, toiletries, torch, warm clothing in winter months, insect repellent, camera & film. Sleeping bag (can be hired for $15.00)
